Saturday February 1, 2014
11:00 a.m. ~ 2:00 p.m. Twin Palms Hotel 225 E. Apache Boulevard Tempe, Arizona A reception presented Ms. Linda Machado who currently holds 2nd place for the title of Ms. Arizona Sr. 2012 and 2013, and now has become Ms. Rhode Island Sr. 2014. The presentation and reception was hosted by The National Advocacy & Training Network (NATN) as their inaugural fundraising event of 2014.
Ms. Machado will go on to represent Rhode Island, which is her family's home state, in the 2014 Ms. Sr. America Pageant. The Ms. Sr. America Pageant is the world's first and foremost pageant to emphasize and give honor to women who have reached the "Age of Elegance." It is a search for the gracious lady who best exemplifies the dignity, maturity and inner beauty of all senior Americans. The Ms. Senior America philosophy is based upon the belief that seniors are the foundation of America, and our most valuable treasure. It is upon their knowledge, experience and resources that the younger generation has the opportunity to build a better society. The Ms. Sr. America Pageant is hosted by Senior America, Inc., a Non-Profit corporation designed not only to enrich the lives of seniors but also to tap their energy to enrich the lives of others. Since Ms. Machado is very passionate about the empowerment of women and supporting the victims of domestic violence, she has elected to have her reception held as a fundraiser for NATN/SEEDs rather than a traditional coronation ceremony. NATN/SEEDs has become Ms. Machado’s platform to lend her voice to benefit survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Based in Arizona, NATN/SEEDs is an international network of survivors, volunteers, advocates, staff and professionals working collaboratively to end domestic abuse, sexual assault, and substance abuse. NATN was featured on the August 11, 2013 Secret Millionaire ABC Television Network with Jay Deutsch, CEO and Co-Founder of BDA. You may learn more about NATN's mission on their website. Ms. Machado will continue her fundraising activities both in Arizona and Rhode Island. |
